We had no trouble finding Kim at the airport and it was just a short drive to their house. We are so thankful that they are letting us stay with them! And I don't know if I was just so tired or if G's bed is just awesome, but I slept like a baby. Really. I could have slept for days!!!
We got up, had breakfast, and headed to DC! Kim is quite the perfect chauffeur, so it was extremely helpful!
Here are a few pics from the day. I have more, but these are the ones that I've taken with my iPad. I'll put some from my pics from the camera on there at some point!
Here we are at breakfast: Rick working, MP guzzling milk after eating a biscuit, and Kim eating. I told Rick that he has a little bit of an Austin Powers aura about him here...

On the way to DC, we passed this Wells Fargo. Hmmmm.......I wonder if it is the one that Tommy was "supposed" to be at!

Mary Peyton with the Lincoln Memorial in the background. This was honestly, aside from the American Girl store, her one request for the DC trip.

And MP looking out at the Washington Monument. Too bad the reflecting pool is under construction. Oh wait - it was under construction the last time I was here, too. Is there EVER water in this reflecting pool?????

MP with the main man! She was so excited and just kept looking up at him!

Me and MP with Abe! Thank goodness I was able to take a pic of us...of course there was a thousand other people who would have taken one for me!

A patient of mine who lives in DC recommended that we eat at Good Stuff or We the Pizza in the Capitol Hill area... Oh. My. Goodness. We went to Good Stuff and it was DIVINE!!!!! So so so good!!! I've got pics of the actual food, but they are on the camera, so they will be in a later post!

The Washington Monument. It's also closed...just my luck. It was closed when I was here last time, too. Go figure. Of course I understand the whole earthquake and all, but good grief!

And of course the White House! Here again, I have one with me and MP, but it's on the camera!

Other things we saw today....Arlington Cemetary, the Capitol, the WWII memorial, the Korean War memorial, the National Cathedral, Watergate, Jefferson memorial.....and I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out!
The day isn't over, so there is a chance that I may blog again! Kim had put on a pot of chili (smells incredible!) and the girls are upstairs playing. I may nap!
Stay tuned!!!!!
