And we're off!!!!!

I haven't blogged about this trip because honestly it was not a confirmed thing until last night!

Let me explain.....

Sit back, grab some coffee, and read on my friends!

Back in June, Tommy was asked by his bank if he would be interested in going to the Baltimore/DC area to help with conversion. His bank started conversion from Wachovia to Wells Fargo last year and the east coast is now getting done! Well, of course he said yes! Three years ago we had an awesome opportunity to go to California with a conversion. Why wouldn't he go now?

While we were at the beach in August, his boss called one night and said that he was going for sure and it would be September 14-24. I had already been looking at flights for me and Mary Peyton, most of them ranging $248-$350/person round trip. There was no way to swing that, but I just knew I was going to keep checking!!!

That night when we got back to the condo from Seaside, I got online and looked at flights. Um.....$96/person round trip!!!!!! Now typically our family does not impulsively spend $288.90 for the fun of it. But really? With fees, taxes, everything??? I had to!

I emailed my friend, Kim, who has a daughter a year older than Mary Peyton. They live between Baltimore and Washington, and Kim and I have been wanting to get our girls together for a while. This seemed like a great time to meet up! Kim and I have so many things in common, but yet when they lived here, I only knew who she was - we didn't really know each other! Somehow we have become friends through blogging, Facebook, etc., and we have a ton of friends in common. She is my sister from another mother. Really.

She told me that she took off work Thursday and Friday and even is taking G out of school on Friday so that we can have girl time! How awesome is she?!?!?

It was just God getting us ready. Really. Her taking off work is major!

Because last week we found out that Tommy is an alternate. I.e. he isn't going! Great. Just great.

For some reason, I never was too stressed. And I don't know why. I just had a peace that it was going to work out!

Anyway....we are off! As I type this, we are sitting on the runway getting ready to leave Jackson! I'm not going to put comments with the pictures....please forgive me!

Ok. So we made it from Jackson to Memphis! We are waiting to board our flight and have had dinner (Corky's BBQ!). Next stop: Baltimore!!!

Stay posted as we have an awesome girls' weekend!!!!!
