day 2 of our cruise was spent at sea. it was actually pretty neat. there was a channel on the tv that showed the exact location of our ship, the speed, etc.
a day at sea is always relaxing. between making spa appointments, laying out by the pool, or going to one of the many activities available, it's just a nice day. you can do all or nothing - the choice is completely yours!
another thing i love on "at sea" days is that the dining hall is open. normally it is just open at night, but when you are sea, you have the option to eat in the dining hall - or any of the other places on the ship (as you will see we chose to do)...
mary peyton sat here and played with our lights on the bed while we finished getting ready...

this isn't the best picture, but it gives you an idea of what we looked up at each time we walked down the hall into the atrium. the lowest floor of the atrium was the empress level and i booked our room here so that everything would be convenient.

one of the wonderful things on the trip - coffee anytime. and mary peyton took advantage of it as much as i did! she had coffee with breakfast every morning and dinner every night. and before you question it, no, it does not keep her up.

mary peyton looking off the back of the boat while we waited on tommy....

we were standing in a line that was fairly long when the entertainment on the lido deck started singing. i can't remember what they were singing, but tommy and mary peyton decided that it was a fine time to start dancing!

mary peyton showing me how little the french fry was after she ate most of it....

mary peyton and tommy eating lunch! to their right/my left was a huge window overlooking those sapphire seas!

tommy and me after we dropped mary peyton off at camp carnival. she couldn't wait to go and we couldn't wait to have just a little adult time! it was a win-win situation!

looking off the back of the boat. why i wanted this picture, i don't know. but i got it!

when we went back to camp carnival later to pick up mary peyton, they had made these little handprints. granted, i realize that this is just a sheet of paper - nothing fancy - but the fact that my baby's handprints are on it make it priceless to me!

my toes before my appointment at the spa for a pedicure. i had this one done 4 weeks before the cruise and it is probably the best one i ever had!

my toes after the pedicure. i'm not sure what the color is - and i'm not 100% loving it. but it was nice to go sit for an hour and have someone take care of my feet. now if i can just get a bottle of the OPI
don't know jacques to redo the color! =)

the 3 of us in our room before going to dinner on the formal night. this is also the one night that we have "professional" pictures taken by the ship's photographers. i'll try to take a picture of a picture and post it! better yet - i'll get a picture of a picture from the last cruise and this cruise so that you can see how much we have changed!

tommy and me all dressed up and ready for dinner! mary peyton looked at tommy and said, "daddy, you look handsome!". then she looked at me and said, "mommy, you look famous!" bless her heart...

pictures of me and mary peyton.....one taken by me (are you completely sick of the "hold out the camera and take a picture" pictures yet???) and one taken by tommy!

our table that we shared with a couple (and their son) from wisconsin and another couple (and their 3 children) from chicago. our head waiter, nanang, and his assistant, i wayan, were awesome!!!

tommy's turn at passing the forks! this was the neatest thing that nanang showed us - and i can't do it justice describing it. basically he intertwined forks and then put a toothpick through them and balanced the whole thing on a glass, leaving the edge of the toothpick sticking off the side. he then took another toothpick and placed it under the other toothpick, so when you held it, you were balancing 2 forks on a toothpick with a single toothpick. whew!
and we passed it around the whole table!

mary peyton watching nanang make her origami bird.....
oh - and the little girl in the background (and her mom) are now friends of ours! it's molly beth and tisha! tommy and i met michael (dad and husband) when we were checking mary peyton into camp carnival and started talking. as it turned out, they are from lake village and live in the same neighborhood as my aunt and uncle! their son was also with them and his girlfriend is from greenwood and graduated with my little cousin! SMALL WORLD!
anyway, it was fun to meet people that we can actually keep in touch with and see again!

mary peyton with the origami bird that nanang made for her! you could pull the front of it and the wings would flap! i was HIGHLY impressed!

my sweet angel girl! she was so excited that it was "dress up" night!

and after dinner, right on cue, was our fun times for the next day and our towel animal for the night - a crab!

i had to get an up close picture of this. the next day, wednesday, august 11, 2010, was our 9th anniversary! and we were getting ready to spend it in cozumel, mexico!!! both of us were SO excited - and mary peyton was, too!

mary peyton and lily ready for bed. she loved having her own place to sleep - even though she still curled up with us some. i think it helped that she was literally at our feet!

our animal zoo for the night! the elephant from night one and the crab from tonight!

stay tuned for day 3! i'll get it done as soon as possible! but it will probably be tomorrow night.....
thanks to all of you who have left comments saying you read the whole thing! YEA! i still have readers! maybe i can redeem myself and get back to regular blogging! =)
