dreaming.....

i never do posts like this. ones that show what i would love to have one day. things i dream of in my "dream" house. my last house. the one tommy and i dream of building one day out on the farm. i think it's almost a fear. fear that it won't happen. and just the general knowledge that it won't happen anytime soon.

but i've decided to just forget about that. i have folders on the desktop of my mac that are dedicated to only pictures that i've found online and saved for inspiration in a house one day ~sigh~......

so i've decided to show those of you who care to know what i might want in a kitchen one day. obviously this does not cover everything that i would want, but it gives a general overview. and there's a description of what i love below each picture and in {}'s..... oh - and i'm sorry that i don't know where each picture came from - i was saving just for me and not to post, so i didn't save them!!!

enjoy!

{i LOVE this for a corner. other than this, i like the cabinets that will open and have a lazy susan in the corner. but i ran across a blog with this as the corner and like this better!}

{this is my dream sink. really. i like copper sinks, too, but this just looks like something my grandmother would have.}

{a little seat area like this would be great in a kitchen. i could do without the flower pillows, but i love that there is a drawer for miscellaneous stuff. i could see this being by the back door and the drawer just being a catch all for misc shoes, etc.}

{somehow i would love to have brick in my kitchen. around my stovetop mainly. maybe one main wall. this picture isn't exactly what i'm picturing, but i do like the arch. i would not want my double oven to be in there, though.}

{and i like the way brick was used in this kitchen. maybe this could be the back side of my stove!}

{ok - i DO know that this came from southern living. and i'm almost positive that it is part of the kitchen from the dream house that they had in hot springs, arkansas, that i went to a few summers ago. i like the brick and copper together.....and the doors/storage in the island...}

{the rough wood floors in this one are beautiful! and the chandelier!}

{and speaking of rough wood, i L-O-V-E this island made of rough wood that is against a smooth wood floor.}

{speaking of islands, this kitchen has really too many arches for me and is too French, but i do like the island and then the bar area. i crave an island with a second sink on it!}

now these next four kitchens are just all around good. the little racks for the plates, the glass doors on cabinets, great islands, colors......

i especially love the next to last picture - it has almost everything - i just don't see any brick =) but there may even be some on another wall (there's no stove top in the picture!!). it's got stainless appliances, "THE" sink, glass doors, an island, great colors, a chandelier, etc! i'd have to add that second sink, though! but 2 of them DO have the stovetop on the island. hmmm......

if you have made it through this whole post, you deserve a medal!!! sorry to ramble through most of it, but i wanted my thoughts down! i think next (not my next post, but the next one about a house) i'm going to show you something else that i'm really wanting in our "dream" house....you'll have to check back to see!

ok - now to watch the last 5 minutes of the bachelor: the women tell all. tonight has been intense - that's for sure!
