she's moved on...

those of you who have read my blog for a while know about our relationship with the goolsby boys - tyler and ryan. for those who don't, here's a quick recap:

jerry and vicky goolsby go to church with us. they have two sons, tyler (almost 21) and ryan (19). we have followed both of these guys through high school football and basketball. last year, our student minister started letting families "adopt" college kids. this was someone in the church other than their family who would send notes, care packages, text, etc., the kids they adopted to let them know that they are loved and missed.

instantly tommy said that he wanted to "adopt" tyler. there were several college kids that i thought about, but he said he wanted to "adopt" tyler and then "adopt" ryan, too, so that we would have kids in the same family.

tyler has gotten several packages last year and now this year. ryan has only gotten one. oops!!! i've got to get on the ball and get better! we DO keep in touch - i've just been a slacker getting happies together!!!

ANYWAY - this time last year, mary peyton was completely smitten with ryan. he was "mr it" on the basketball court and we made as many games as possible. she even went by herself with her daddy to some that i couldn't go to.

here is mpb and ryan at his all star game after he was named south mvp...

well, this year ryan is at state and mpb isn't so sure about all of that. seriously. she will blow him kisses and wave/talk to him from a distance, but there's no running and jumping to him like there was this time last year, that's for sure!

but tyler - now that's a different story.....

she's smitten with tyler. not sure if it has anything to do with it, but he is at ole miss...... a few weeks ago at church, all 4 of them were standing around talking to us. i asked mp which one was the "good" goolsby. she said, "tyler, mommy!". yes, he's the only rebel in their house. so we've adopted him...

this past weekend, we went up to oxford for basketball and baseball games. after the baseball game, we met up with tyler to give him his "happy". mp jumped at the chance to take a picture, so here it is:

i sent it to jerry and labeled it "2 of my kids". he emailed me back and said that he'd let us pay the ole miss tuition. i told him that i'd hate to take that privilege away from him!

so that's it for our boys! she's moved on from one 14 years older than her to one that's 16 years older than her... good grief...
