the other day, we (mary peyton and i) were shopping a little on our day off - fridays, of course. anyway, we were at renaissance and there were wasps around.
well, i am HIGHLY allergic to wasps. if my mam-maw was here, you could ask her. i was stung when i was little and it followed having 2 shots in each arm and missing a few days of school. it was bad. i remember that i then had to keep an epi-pen in the office in elementary school just in case i got stung. i'm not quite sure why i stopped carrying an epi-pen, because you don't out grow that allergy. but i guess now i'm smart enough to stay away from wasps and bees!
so anyway - when the wasps were around, i was rushing and telling mpb to hurry up! that i didn't want to get stung and have to go get a shot! it worked and we were all o.k.
fast forward to friday night. tommy and mpb are laying on the couch when i hear the following:
mpb: "and daddy, there were squats trying to get mommy!"
tb: "really, what was trying to get mommy?"
mpb: "squats. squats were going to get her! we had to hurry!"
tb: "mary peyton, i don't know what you are talking about!"
mpb: {starts waving her hands around her head, etc} "mommy, you know - the SQUATS! they were going to sting you!"
this is when we realized that she was talking about WASPS. it cracked me up. and she's still calling them squats today...
