anyway - tommy decided today to go through the paperwork related to our HP that died and saw where we got an extended warranty on it.
o.k. just so that we don't look completely stupid.........we got our HP at circuit city, which has now closed. so for some reason i figured that it was just a loss.
so back to the story.........he called the warranty number and a guy from circuit city answered and said that they are honoring all of the warranties, etc., that were purchased.
SO - tommy had to call them back this afternoon when he got home from work. as it turns out, he had to call an actual HP number and they are having problems with the motherboard of some of the laptops like ours and they've been recalled!!!
the guy told us to take out the hard drive because that's where the pictures are that i have not backed up (january and february) and they are sending us a box so that we can send the computer to them and they will send us a new one!
tommy is in hog heaven! he isn't a huge fan of my mac, so now he will have his own computer!
so maybe it's bittersweet that it died a few weeks ago? =)
