i've been tagged by several people to do the 6 random things about you meme. and i'm just now getting around to it.
SO........here it goes!
1) as if you didn't already know.......i love being an only child - and my child is going to be an only child. there i said it. no, we're not planning to have anymore. and let me explain a little (although i know we don't HAVE to explain - it's our choice!). tommy and i both grew up only children. we don't know any different. people who tell us, "you HAVE to have more! i mean - look at all she's missing out on!" - we don't have a clue what they're talking about. because we don't feel like we missed out on anything. in fact, i've done lots of stuff that i NEVER would have been able to do if i had siblings!
2) i can't stand the sound of water pouring out of a pitcher. i don't know what it is - it just bothers the heck out of me!
3) i used to tell some of my friends that i had a big brother. when they would ask why they had never met him, i told them that he was off at college. it was sort of a true story! my 1st cousin - bo - would come live with us in the summers and work for my daddy. well, when he did go off to school to be a pilot (in columbus), it was like i had lost my brother to college! oh - but i think i did tell them that he was at mississippi state. o.k. so the whole darn thing was a lie.
4) BELIEVE IT OR NOT - this one is really going to shock some of you (i.e. junebug - if you even still read????) - when i graduated from high school, i said i would never go back to the Delta. there. i said it. my beloved Delta. yes, the one that now i would pack up my house by 7 a.m. tommorrow to get back to. can you believe that i felt that way? good grief. i'm glad i've grown out of that. oh - or maybe it's just the old thinking that the grass is always greener - well i personally don't think it is.
5) if tommy and i had not already decided on names, if we had waited and just had some picked out for a girl and some for a boy (we didn't find out what we were having), we would have probably named mary peyton either "mary edward" or "mary thomas". but since we had decided on mary peyton or john thomas, as soon as she was born, we said, "well, there's mary peyton"! and honestly - that name fits her!
6) i started driving when i was 6 or 7. no lie. i'll do a whole post about that by itself. oh - but that was driving with someone. i started driving by myself when i was 9 (when crump was born). i assure you, as crazy as this sounds, it's the truth!
i tag anybody who thinks they want to do this!

of course I still read. and yes, I am shocked.
my parents will be here in a few weeks and I am trying my dangdest to get my in-laws here as well. if that happened, I'd never have to go to the Delta again!!
of course, it's not so much that I hate the Delta...it's more that I hate doing anything that takes away the freedom of my weekends. I think I'd feel the same way if they all lived somewhere else. well, except maybe Orlando.
I will testify that you were driving by 9...no problem
Hey Suzanne. I love the new pic of Mary Peyton in the flowers - sooo precious!!!
ok. i AM shoked about the delta comment, but i agree that sometimes we do have to learn about that whole "grass is greener" thing. i know i did. and still do sometimes :o)
oops. i mean shocked, not shoked. is shoked a word??? heehee.
