So we find out a sad fact...
and that is that disney world is worlds away for us. i'm sorry, ashley. but it's gonna be YEARS before this mama takes her little chick to orlando.
and let me help you all to understand where i'm coming from on this. i think you'll end up on my side.
mary peyton loves all things ole miss. she can pick out the words "ole miss" on shirts, etc., that she's never seen. it really is kinda funny. we have to bribe her at night to go to sleep by telling her that we will try to go to ole miss soon. i really do think that if you cut her, it would be red and blue - oh wait.....it would anyway. nevermind. you know what i mean.
so tonight we went to the coliseum to watch ole miss play basketball (and we won, thank goodness). mary peyton woke up talking about how she was going to "ole miss" after big girl school (daycare).
we get in. she cheers. she claps. she shakes her pom poms.
she spots him.
the real him.
colonel rebel.
and she wants to see him. so we watch him across the coliseum hoping he'll come our way. he doesn't. he disappears. then comes back with a basketball jersey on.
now we can go see "the rebel man". she was so excited all the way over to him and then it happened.
shriek. squeal. tears. the whole nine yards.
WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!
how can a child go from being so dang excited and can't wait to get over there to ripping her toenails off without numbing her first?
so i talked to colonel reb and she finally blew him a kiss (and he blew one back) and waved goodbye.
yep. a long time til disney. i don't feel like wasting that money right now........
***the picture is not resized and is taking up too much space! but i had to include it. this is when she is happiest. dressed as a "cheedeeder" and going to watch the rebels - thank goodness she doesn't understand that we stink.....in football at least!*****

so precious! glad to see some pictures and see you posting!
I think you just described Libbey exactly. She loves them from a distance, but she does not want to get too close. We will be waiting awhile to go back to Disney, too. Poor Maddie. I don't blame Mary Peyton for wanting to go to Ole Miss all the time. There is no place like The Grove on Saturday during football season. And, hopefully, next year is going to be better for us. At least we have basketball for now. :)

Girl, Disney is SO much more than the characters. But you know my stance on DisneyWorld. Take me anytime, whenever, and I am a happy camper. Promise you'll take me when you go.
I can't say I blame her for bursting into tears when an old dude in Ole Miss shirt comes close...hahaha...just kidding. That picture is just adorable--even if she does have on the wrong colors.
The picture is so cute!
Laura Grace was the same way at her age. Give her just a few more months and she will be running up to every character in DW screaming
"HI! I'M LAURA GRACE! HI! HEY! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!I'M LAURA GRACE!" and then when they don't look she will throw herself on them nearly knocking them down.
Not that this happened.
