sharing with mp!

last friday - on the next to last day of our busiest week of the summer (i'll post more about it later) - i decided that it was time to introduce mary peyton to an old friend of mine. a friend that i even named a beloved pet after (and later found out that my beloved pet - a cat - was a boy and not a girl!).

ladies and gentlemen,

boys and girls...

i introduced her to none other than the incredible

PIPPI LONGSTOCKING!

i decided that if i was going to invest in one of the books, that i may as well buy the nice hardback one so that it will be something she will love to share with her own children one day. you know, me and my sentimental self.

last night i started reading it to her. i tried to use different voices and really make the book what astrid lindgren meant for it to be. at least in my mind. i want her to imagine all of the images in her head before i introduce her to the movies.

it was so much fun! we only got through about 5 pages, but they are fairly long. so we will start it up again! i'm just glad she loves to read!

oh - and while i'm on the story about pippi - my cousin's cat had kittens - all orange and white just like my pippi was. mary peyton has begged for one, but we already have 2 cats and a dog - there is NO ROOM IN THE INN! but i promised her that when something happens to all of our animals, we will get a kitten. an orange and white one. she was happy with that.

as long as it's named pippi.

G wants a kitten so bad. I tell her when the two cats and the Beagle are gone, we will get a kitten. Guess what? We want an orange and white tabby! Only because my old family cat was one. Thanks for the Pippi idea. I need to introduce G to her. See ya!!
