mp and her "brother"

we went to the beach with our good friends, mike and denise beacham, and their son, alex, last weekend. they own sweet peppers deli at renaissance (if you haven't eaten here, go check it out! SO good! and if you want recommendations of my favorites, just ask!) and their general manager was getting married at the beach. when they told us they were going, i jokingly said, "well, just get a 3 bedroom condo and we will go, too!". not much longer denise had found one and it was planned!

when we go to the beach, we usually stay in orange beach. but this time, we stayed down fort morgan road at the beach club. i had never been this far down fort morgan road, but it was wonderful! away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy part (even though it wasn't bad since it was october) and just quiet.

on thursday, denise picked mary peyton up from school right after lunch and they headed to pick up alex. i worked through lunch so that i could get off at 4:00. we all met up at wells fargo and headed south!

it was a great trip and i have pictures to share from it, but i seem to be straying away from the main reason of this post!!!

on sunday after we got back and had come home, mary peyton made her own declaration while we were looking at pictures from the weekend.

mary peyton: "mama, alex is the best big brother EVER!"

...pause...

mary peyton: "and I'M the little sister!"

this was so precious. i grabbed my phone and sent it as a text to all 3 of them. alex and mary peyton are both only children. they really do get along like a brother and sister. only maybe a little better because they aren't ALWAYS around each other!

alex really is a wonderful "big brother" to mary peyton. he is patient with her and protective! he has already said that when she starts dating, guys will have to go through more than just tommy to date her! i'm glad to know we have back up!!!
