Something I love...

(but that doesn't mean that i have them!)

i've always loved herend - but have never had a piece. i have a cousin who has so many pieces...i love to just look at them. each piece is beautiful!

here is some info about herend that i got off of their site:

"Herend holds a rich history spanning many years, crossing many oceans and charming generation after generation to enjoy worldwide acclaim as the pinnacle in supreme porcelain, also known as “white gold.”

Now the biggest porcelain manufactory in Europe, Herend was founded in 1826 to produce earthenware in the small Hungarian village for which it was named. At the time, Hungary was flooded with low-cost pottery, so competition was fierce. In 1839 a major turning point occurred when Mor Fischer became the Manufactory’s new owner. Taking Herend in an entirely new direction, visionary Fischer carved out the unique niche of producing dinnerware replacement pieces for Europe’s royal families to complement their valuable porcelain patterns from Germany and the Far East."

i would LOVE to have a full setting of this - there's no telling what it would cost, but a girl can always dream, right?
and of course for mary peyton, i would love to have this little shoe......
and this cup/bowl/saucer. no, i would never let her use it...or maybe i might! but i would still love to have it as part of our collection!
and then, with me being the dental hygienist and all, i would love this tooth box! you would think that my child would already have a tooth fairy pillow, but that's not quite the case! i've actually thought about making a pillow out of a smocked piece i did, but we'll see. anyway, i love this!
as i was looking on the herend website, i thought how neat it would be to have a fish and bird to save as part of mary peyton's collection. last year, she was in the fish class and this year she is a bird. here are a few of my favorites.....
of course i would like to add some of these for me, so i browsed some i would like to have (even after mary peyton takes her pieces off - wait, we don't even have the pieces - or one piece for that matter - but we're dreaming, remember?)...
and THEN i found these.....i think they are precious. neither are what i would consider "traditional" herend (you know - with the "fish scale" type painting), but i thought they were precious.

the little girl is adorable. i fell in love with it as soon as i saw it...
and this is the last piece (kudos to you if you've actually made it through this whole post!). this piece was called "the prayer". i love how it has a little girl praying to Jesus on the cross. and now i'm REALLY wanting it.....

i'm working on another post of something else i dream of having - one day. stay tuned for it!
