as everyone in the state knows, thursday night/friday (for us until about 2:00) was one of the prettiest and hardest snow "storms" since new year's 2001. we got around 5 inches of snow and it was beautiful!
it was snowing thursday night when we went to bed, but i was skeptical of how much it would really snow. we didn't know if JA would have school or not (they said that they would announce around 5:30 a.m. on friday), so at 5:15 i was up and looking outside.
oh my goodness.
it was beautiful.
well, despite the fact that i had gone to bed at 1:30, i was back up. wide awake. and looking like a child at the white scene outside.
around 7:20 the other two people who sleep with me (yes, mary peyton sleeps with us - i'll do a post by itself on that sometime) decide that they will get up. mary peyton's eyes were HUGE. i got her to walk just outside the front door. she looked at me and said, "um, mommy, it's WAY too cold out here. let's just play inside until the snow stops. okay?".
that was just fine. we sat around and played. kept a fire going, had windows open, coffee, etc. it was a great day.
around 1:30ish, kelly and the girls came down. libbey and maddie are 2 of the sweetest girls!!! put mary peyton in the mix and it can be funny. i made snow ice cream and they wanted to come down and have some (i'm doing that post next).
after eating the snow ice cream, we decided to go outside (since it wasn't snowing anymore). mary peyton just didn't want it falling all over her, etc. i understand. it's fun, but it's also messy.
anyway, below are a few pictures from the day. i love the first two. in the first you can see the snow still falling against the dark color of our brick. in the second, i love the snow all piled up on the branches of the pine tree.
and then there was the time for playing in the snow. snowballs, snow angels, and some pictures....gotta love it!

I still have some you can come play in. We have mountains of it everywhere!! LOL!! It'll be a month before I see the front yard again. However, we have 40 degree weather the next several days, and I hope it melts a lot of it.
