well, {o.k. how many of you know where THIS is going - you ought to if you've been reading my blog for any amount of time recently} this morning mary peyton asked me to pray for jeremy's leg.
again.
only this time when we started saying our prayers about jeremy, mary peyton BROKE DOWN. i mean tears and tears and tears.
which caused me to tear up.
bless her heart....is she REALLY this tenderhearted and compassionate?
we got close to parham bridges park and she was still crying. so i told her to look in the trees and see if she could find a bird. she said that she saw one. so i told her that God takes care of that bird and He will take care of jeremy.
this broke my heart - to see her so upset over someone who is hurt.
so...........when i got to work i went on the samford website and found jeremy's player profile. i printed out his picture so that we can keep in on our fridge and she will know who she is praying for.
i also decided to take a long shot and e-mail the head coach, pat sullivan, just to see if he would pass the word on to jeremy that a little girl is all worried about him.
in just a few hours, i had a response from coach sullivan. here it is:

"Suzanne,
Thank you for your kind note and for your interest in Jeremy. I'm sure Mary Peyton is a
very special child. Please tell her Jeremy had his surgery and everything went well. He is now
in rehab. I will forward your note to Jeremy and his family. Again, thank you so much for your
note and for the prayers of your family for Jeremy.
Sincerely,
Pat Sullivan"
this same note was also forwarded to samford's athletic director and the president of the college.
i gave mary peyton the picture that i printed out when i picked her up from school. she didn't want to put it down. but she did want to go see her "friend". bless her heart....
here is jeremy - please, if you think about it, say a prayer for this young man.

I know that will mean so much to him!
That is so sweet-i've still been thinking about him. after they played it over several times, i can still see his leg turn the way it did. it was very traumatic-but that is so precious for mary peyton to remeber him. you've raised a good one. see you soon. love, royann
Ok - tears!!!!!!!!!! that is precious! I have so much to say about this but i can't even find the words! simply precious!
Don't you underestimate Mary Peyton's role in Jeremy's recovery. God may be keeping Jeremy on her heart for a purpose. God's ways are mysterious to us, but we are just supposed to obey. She is doing that. She is obeying her little heart. I think it is AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! And I think YOU are awesome because you validate her in this way and are helping her to grow in her spiritual life.

That is so sweet. She is a special little girl.
That is so awesome! I hope you gave them the link to your blog so that they could read all the things you have written in the past couple of days! I think that this will really touch him and his family because I am sure he thought that no one except for his teammates and family gave his injury a second thought. Way to go! Rob would be so proud since that is his Alma Mater!
I wonder where she gets her empathy and compassion from? Hummmm..... :)
How sweet!
I'm with Deanna!
Well, I tried three times yesterday to leave a comment here. Maybe you are just not approving me... :)
What a sweet sweet post. I know you blessed this young man and his family. And how great of Coach Sullivan to reply to you!
How sweet... empathy is a trait that many (most?) people are lacking today. MPB is a very special girl.
What a precious child! Oh my goodness; that's the sweetest thing I've ever heard. I pray my girls will find that kind of sensitivity. Amazing.
how sweet is she?!?!?! and how neat that the coach emailed you back?! in the middle of the season, that is a big deal b/c im sure he is so busy!!
and i feel for him too - it tugs at my heart too - those are the same things i tore this last go around (plus lateral meniscus) - BLESS HIM! and i have to say, im glad i didnt see it - i dont think i couldhave handled that!
