june 2008 (so far)....

june has turned out to be a busy month......and it's not over yet.

it started out with just our standard working/home/working/home....yada yada yada

on friday the 6th, i got up early and went to a sample sale. it was awesome! he had a bunch of smocked stuff, mis-tee-vus, zackali, etc. tommy was proud of my purchases!

i left the sample sale and got mary peyton ready for russ' 3rd birthday party. it was at freedom ridge park and they had such a good time! he's so cute - just see the picture below!!!

when we left the party, we went to get mary key at river hills. she had come down to play tennis - we wanted to go watch, but she didn't know what time her match was, so we missed out. anyway, we spent the afternoon shopping at target and then went home. key took us out to eat that night for her's and t.c.'s anniversary (since he wasn't here!) at el ranchito.

mary key's soccer team had 3 games on saturday to qualify for the state games (which are this weekend in meridian). they won 2 and tied the last one!!!

the week flew by - just our "typical" routine. i say the quote over and over to myself, "the days are long, but the years are short....the days are long, but the years are short....." IT IS SO TRUE!

father's day weekend - stella and wilson came down and stayed with us on friday night. they went to jubilee jam and were less than impressed. the next morning, we got up and went to dawson's birthday party. it was so much fun!

after the party, we headed to greenwood. daddy, theresa, aunt betty jane, uncle joe, kimberly, dee, and lawson came to meet us there to eat. but before going to eat, mary peyton had to go swimming at her "baula's" house.

we went to daddy's to spend the night (in minter city). father's day was especially fun for mary peyton - see the picture below!

yes - i let my baby ride daddy's fatboy with him. don't worry - i'm not a bad mother. daddy was going really, really slow and just around the yard. every time he would come back like he was about to stop, mary peyton would start crying and tell him to go again. guess he's got a future riding partner, huh?

we went to greenwood that afternoon and had dinner at my mom's. then it happened. time to leave. only we were leaving my baby behind. for. a. whole. week. uuuugggghhhh! mary peyton didn't ask any questions and was excited about going to dance camp!

this past week was busy - again, just normal stuff and we started a new class at church wednesday night. we did go to greenwood last night so that we would be there this morning for the "performance". well, just know that it is the performance that never happened. below is a picture of mary peyton's view of the dance camp recital.

yep - that's right. she watched all of the other little girls just like we did. as soon as she saw us this morning, she RAN straight to her daddy and would not let him go. on one side, it was great - knowing that she missed us and all. on the other side, get out there and dance!!!

we went to eat at the blue parrot before i had to head to lamb's photography to order mpb's 3 year pictures. lamb's has done all of mary peyton's formal portraits and i can't say enough good things about the job andrew does! i've never - not once - been disappointed!

anyway - we came back home so that we could go eat with julz and mark (home from south africa!!!), darlin' and dad (julz' parents), mama (julz' grandmother), and fran chuck and amanda (julz' sister/brother-in-law/niece) at cock of the walk. mary peyton had such a good time feeding the ducks! and we got to catch up a little!

so now you're up to date on the happenings of the barnette's for june - so far.

OH - but in about 5 hours i'll be up getting ready to go to natchez for the kelly's kids warehouse sale (sorry, nicki..........can't stay this time..........i'm coming with 2 friends). yes - i. am. serious. emily will be here around 3:30 or so and we'll go get with kecia and off we go!
