my 300th post - just for mary key

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY KEY!

my sweet girl, mary key, turned 12 today. i can relive the day she was born like it was yesterday.

jill and i pulled up to my house in minter city. my aunt, pattie, yelled out the window that key was in labor. i ran in, got whatever i needed, and we headed to greenwood.

jill and i stayed at the hospital until about 11:00 that night. i was a little freaked out when they let us go back and see key while she was in labor - that was definately a first for me!

key was the only one who knew that mary key was a girl - the lady doing her sonogram accidentally referred to the baby as a "she" at one appt. the rest of us where clueless.

jill and i left and went to her house to spend the night. my mom called the sutphen's house early the next morning and jill's mom woke me to up tell me that "we" had a girl! and she was born about 20 minutes after jill/i left. uuuugggghhhh. just my luck!

i rushed to the hospital and just stood at the window of the nursery looking in at this beautiful little girl. i couldn't wait to spoil her. and i did!

i took crump and wilson to school that day (they got to the hospital after i did).

mary key is one of the most beautiful girls i have ever known - on the inside and out. she has good morals and loves her parents/grandparents. she gave me my nickname - "sissy". and still calls me that to this day. in fact - most little kids that i'm really close to call me sissy. and it all goes back to mary key.

tommy and i both love her so much that when we talked about girl's names, we wanted our child to be named after her (and my aunt - mary rose). mary peyton loves her mary key, too, and wants to play soccer just like her.

mary key was one of the most beautiful flower girls that i have ever seen (mary peyton was the other - last march in julia's wedding!). and i won't even go into how NOT excited mary key was when we told her we were pregnant - she was worried that she would not get attention anymore...

ANYWAY...

happy birthday, mary key. God has blessed my life so much by making you part of it!

much love always - sissy.
