i know...i know...this is so unlike us. i mean - tommy waits until we get to hawaii on our honeymoon to let me know that he's really - i mean REALLY scared of "beach" water. and he didn't go in. well, he did once - but only up to his ankles. and that doesn't count.
anyway, last summer when his side of the family went to the beach for a long weekend, i was able to talk him into getting in the water. he decided it wasn't so bad.
so we're going back.
plus, i had put back a certain amount of money for vacation and then found a great deal on a studio condo right on the beach. we couldn't pass it up. we will go down sunday-thursday and then tommy's family will get there thursday, so we'll change condos and stay til sunday.
i can't wait.

We went to Orange Beach last May and loved it so much that we're going back May 11th. I can't wait.
Where are you staying this time....I'm scoping out new places there to stay. Let me know.
do you like it better than sandestin? i want a change of scenery this summer. please elaborate on your vacation destination!
I like the Beach Club because it's not too crowded on the beach. It's just mainly Beach Club tenants. The pools are great, fireworks for the Fourth are incredible and if you sign up for their newsletter they will tell you about specials for the month.
There are also houses you can rent off Fort Morgan Road where the Beach Club is located. My family has done that and it has been a hit.
I like Destin and Seaside much better, but these are a little closer and a nice change. Have fun!

I love Orange Beach! Although I am not a big beach person I like it much better than Gulf Shores (and yes I know they are only about 8 miles apart... I should know I walked it ... yes I said WALKED it!) My best friend and I went to Orange Beach for her birthday over Labor Day this past year and decided we would not go back to Gulf Shores. I will have to remember the resturants we liked and did not like and let you know!
