we officially have an operating kitchen again!!!
mary peyton went home with tommy's mom after church today so that we could try to get the house somewhat in order. everything's just been so crazy since we got back home from the Delta for Christmas. but now i feel more calm.
the kitchen looks bigger than ever. i don't know if it's the color on the walls or the tile placed on the diagonal, but it's bigger - or at least seems that way; and that's what counts, right?
the dining room could actually be used for "dining" again! during the Christmas season, it seems to become the "catch-all" for everything - big rubbermaid boxes full of wrapping stuff, presents that were bought way early, etc., etc. i love to have the "formal" dining room look - and we've almost got it back that way!
the den is straightened up. that's all i can say. we don't have a bonus room to serve as the play room, so before she was even born, we decided that we wanted her toys in the den so that we can enjoy her playing. plus, i want her room to be all nice and stuff, so i don't want everything messed up, you know?
oh - and then there's our bedroom, the guest bedroom, and the laundry room. i'll shoot anybody who dares to try to go in there. they are not serving, like the dining room did, as a "catch-all", but everything that is in them is organized chaos.
the laundry room is full of stuff. that's the only way i know to put it.
the guest bedroom has clothes. lots and lots of clothes. that i've got to go through and box up. that will probably take me most of a day. better do that while some good shows are on - then it won't seem so bad!
our bedroom is home to our 2 HUGE cats. and when i say huge, i really mean it - 22 lbs and 17 or 18 lbs. tiger and little bit. guess she's not little bitty anymore, huh? but with the cats, we can only clean so much. plus, tommy and i tend to focus on the rest of the house and neglect the room we should take care of the most! but that's just the way it goes!
so if anybody wants to come over - call and do so! i'm so proud of my new kitchen and ready to have people over!!!
