there's no place like home

we had a great time at the beach. got there thursday night. got back here last night. it was so good to get away, but it's always good to crawl back in your own bed.

now i know if you are reading my blog and have for sometime, you are saying to yourself, "wait....she just said a few posts ago how the Delta is home and madison is just where she lives." this is very true.

so now i start thinking about how every time i go to the Delta, it's kinda like coming home from the beach. you enjoy your time there (o.k. i know i have to work, etc., in madison, but i do enjoy my time in this area...), but when all is said and done, it's nice to go home.

so anyway, i won't go on about home again - i think you all know how i feel. just wanted to let you know that i AM back and i'll try to finish posting july pictures this week. dr carter is going out of town, so i will be home trying to take down the border in my kitchen and paint. oh joy. do i have any volunteers to help!!??!!??!!?? please.....not all at once!!! ha.

Ooohhh...I LOVE to paint!

Also, I thought about what you said about home, since I was probably the one that instigated it. It occurred to me that I don't have a place where I grew up. I have lived in the house I am in now longer than I have ever lived in one place in my life. That is probably why I am so attached to it. I am determined that my children will know where they are from...where their history is. And that they will know that they and their home are important to their parents.

I will help you paint and take down your border if you help me strip the kids' bathroom wallpaper...

I hate home improvement. Well, I love home improvement AFTER it is done, just not the work part!
