i finally did it. i downloaded picasa and put ALL of the pictures on my computer onto it. so now i feel like they are in better hands than the "hands" they were on on this 10 year old computer. at least if this crashes, i have them out there, not just on here, you know?
but here is my question.....
if/when we get a new computer, do i just download picasa again?

there isn't anywhere that i login, so how does it know what pictures are mine?
are they saved in cyber space or did i just move them from one program on my computer to another?

there should be a button on picasa that says "web albums".... if you highlight your pictures and then click on web albums it will prompt you to put in your user name and password and then it will upload them to the picasa web albums. you can then make you albums public and send the link to family and friends or make them private so only you can see them. but then they are saved online as well. i hope that helps some!
Ah, yeah. That makes sense. Mine are only on my computer...not in web albums. I use Flikr for that. But I do like Picasa for quick edits and re-sizing for the blog.
