happy birthday, jill!

my best friend since 7th grade turns 29 today. if you know me much at all, you've met or heard about jill. we played softball together before she came to pillow, but became best buds when we were in school together. she is awesome.

jill and i have had lots of fun together - i went to my first mississippi state football game with her (and her parents). we would walk around campus and act like we were students there. yeah right...like we looked old enough! but it was fun! WE got a car when my daddy bought the old '85 mustang. and WE got another one when the transmission went out on it! i never played sports in high school, so jill made up this part of our half. she was an awesome basketball player (with a 6'0 frame and brains for the game) and cheerleader. i got to go watch my "better half" play and cheer her on!

we snuck out together for the first time (sorry if parents are reading this....oh wait...jill told off on us at my wedding reahearsal supper!). drove the old mustang over to indianola to meet some boys. we were scared to death the whole time. and it was about to storm! not good for 10th grade girls who typically didn't do much wrong!

we hung out at the north greenwood youth house. that was fun. her brother, fred, had his license before us, so we would ride with him! a guy friend of ours said one time that if you combine me and jill (which we were pretty much attached - if you saw one, you saw both!) you would have the perfect woman - she has LONG legs and i had the boobs. wow. women are meat, right? there are lots of other fun memories.....but i'll stop and come more to the present...

jill was my maid of honor and 2 years later i was in her wedding. we were pregnant together and have sweet girls who can now grow up friends. oh if they only have as much fun as their mama's!

there are so many more things going through my head that i would love to post! but i would be sitting here all day. so i'll wrap it up.

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JILL! you are as close as a sister (which to me is special since i really don't have a sister OR brother). i know that i can call you anytime and you know you can do the same. you are a wonderful person and i am so fortunate to have been blessed with your friendship! i love you!
