Don't go so quickly

Mary Peyton was 21 months old in this picture. When I went back to look at all of the pictures I took in that little group, this one and a few like it stood out to me. There is no telling how many times I will watch her walk down the sidewalk away from our home. Right now it is just for fun - we get to the end and then turn around and walk back uphill to the house! But before we know it, she will be walking down the walkway on her first date. Walking down to get in her own car. Walking down in a graduation cap and gown. Walking down to leave for college. Walking down for a final time as our baby before we give her away (I know you can tell I'm thinking about Julia's wedding again, right?). The time is so fleeting. We are now almost at 22 months and I want to freeze the days. How can days seem so long and yet go by so fast? God has blessed us with such a precious little girl. I only hope that we do not take for granted the time that we do have with her because it will be gone in the blink of an eye.
