where do i even start???
today my "first" mary turns 15.
and it blows my mind.
mary key was born just a few weeks before my high school graduation. i can vividly remember getting home after finding out key was in labor and rushing back to greenwood to the hospital. jill was with me and we stayed that night as long as we could until we were both about to fall asleep.
we went home to jill's house and early the next morning her mom came in and told us that my mom had called and key had a girl (they did not find out what they were having)!
i threw on some clothes and rushed to the hospital. noone was there as i just stood and looked at this perfect, beautiful baby in the nursery window. not much later, t.c. got off the elevator with two excited big brothers: crump, who was 9 at the time, and wilson, who was 7.
i took them to school that morning, running through burger king on the way. i was already counting down the minutes until school was out and i could get back to the hospital to be with "my" new baby.
mary key has been such an incredibly special part of my life. my nickname, sissy, was given to me by her (we were trying to get her to call me suzie and it came out sissy!). it was no question when i got engaged who would be my flower girl. it had to be her. when the time came for us to have a baby, tommy wanted mary used in a girl's name because of how precious mary key had become to him.
over the years, it has been amazing to watch her grow and blossom into a young woman who is beautiful on the outside, but that does not even begin to compare to the beauty that is in her heart! she is one of the most genuine girls i've ever known.
and i'm blessed to call her "mine".
mary peyton looks up to her and wants to do everything that mary key does! i've decided that this is not such a bad thing. little girls in today's world need someone of integrity to look up to! someone who knows right from wrong, who dresses appropriately, who loves God and their family. Lord, thank you for mary key and the role model that she is for my child!
here is a picture of my mary's from last summer!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY KEY!
i hope you know how much your sissy, tommy, and mary peyton all love you!!!
(i did this post on may 6th, but it is just now posting on may 9th because i had to add the pictures! we ended up being with mary key some on her birthday. i'm constantly amazed at the incredible young woman that she is! oh - and the pictures were taken by my photog friend, beth! let me know if you need her info! the one of my mary's is one of my favorites...well, both of the pictures in this post are my faves!)
