in 33 years......

today was my 33rd birthday. it's amazing to think of how much has changed in 5 years of my life, much less 33!

i took pictures of pictures when i was home at Christmas. so please excuse the quality. i just wanted them to look at from time to time.

daddy was not in the room with mama when i was born. he was out getting ready to watch the monday night football game (i was born at 6:49 that night). in those days, though, dads were not always present for the birth the way they are now. i wonder sometimes if they wanted a boy. or if they were fine with a girl (i sure hope so!). or if they just really didn't care because they had been trying to have a baby for a few years.

i was 8 pounds 12 1/2 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long.

this is the picture of me, my mama, and daddy at my christening at minter city united methodist church. brother nun christened me. he was a good friend of my grandparent's until he passed away. what a precious man. mary peyton was also christened in this same church.

fast forward 33 years and here is my family of 3 of my own.

mama and daddy, i know that you had a hard time getting pregnant and having me. thank you for not giving up. i hope i've been worth it and will continue to try to make you proud! thank you for all you have done for me, me and tommy, and me tommy and mary peyton. we are blessed to have both of you!
