Mary Peyton's birthdays.....

it is so hard for me to believe that by the time i get this typed up, pictures arranged, and everything just the way i want it, it will be the anniversary of one of the biggest days of my life.

mary peyton will be 5 years old.

sigh....

5 is not hitting me as hard as 4 did. when she was 1, 2, and 3, she still seemed like a baby or toddler. 4 years old marks a year that you're really getting into your own. and by 5, well, you're just a little girl.

mary peyton, you have brought more joy to my heart than you can ever imagine. i love that every stage of your life has been the "best" stage. each day brings it's own struggles, but also more giggles and belly laughs than we can stand. you have a maternal instinct with your babies (lily, sophie, olivia) that is beyond precious.

you love music and can relate events and happenings to the music that you heard at the time. you strive to please others. your heart is huge and your smile is almost as big! (sometimes your tantrums are as well!).

never in my wildest dreams did i imagine 5 years years ago tonight that i would love you as much as i do. please don't get me wrong, i knew i would love you. even though we didn't know if you were john thomas or mary peyton (we wanted a surprise and it was the best thing ever!!!), i already loved and wanted you more than anything. but once you were born - once i was able to hold you and look down into your sweet little face - the instant feeling was overwhelming. nothing in this world could have prepared me for that moment.

i can't wait to watch you continue to grow. you love Jesus and your friends and family. and it is such an incredible blessing to be the one you call mommy.

happy birthday, mare!

i love you, sweet angel!
mommy

here are some pictures from each birthday. i plan her birthday parties around her outfit - color schemes, etc. her cakes are always made to match the outfit, which by the way are zackali. this year's is precious and i can't wait to share it with you!

(i have lots of pictures that i want to post from when mary peyton was born, but considering it took over an hour to do this post - mainly because our internet is so slow - i'm going to wait and post when i can get to a faster wifi!)

Happy Birthday to your sweet little girl! I love how special and personal you make her birthdays. I have sweet memories of my momma making my cakes for some of my birthdays. She wasn't a professional like you, but the fact she took the time and put her heart into it means so much. I know Mary Peyton will treasure this some day! ~Blessings!

I don't know how I missed this post! I think the idea about the outifts is so cute. We have a Zackali Christmas outfit for next year, that I bought on sale after Christmas! Ann Peyton wore an outfit by The Bailey Boys this year for her birthday, and I think it might be fun to start a tradition!

By the way, I think I saw you at Cracker Barrel a few weeks ago. I didn't say anything, because I didn't want to seem stalkerish, but I'm a friend of Ashley's and have been reading your blog for a while. I'm almost sure it was you, though!
