well, it's been an interesting week to say the least!
monday while at lunch (and drinking a big glass of ice water here in jackson), i get a call from tommy.
t: "so do ya'll still have water at the office?"
me: "um, yes....why?"
t: "the entire city is in a state of emergency because so many water lines have busted."
me: "great."
i then start texting katrice to make sure JA is ok and to see if they are getting out early, etc. especially since on twitter, i had a zillion tweets to read about all of the offices closing, schools getting out, etc.
JA stayed open monday, but were closed tuesday and wednesday.
and all i can say is thank God for my precious friend, beth, who kept mary peyton for me. i don't know what we would have done!
anyway - today they are back in school! and we had to send labeled bottled water. but at least i'm not worried about who i can get to keep her (tommy's office and mine have both remained open).
you know, i've thought so much about how "inconvenient" the water situation is, but we have it so incredibly good compared to the people of haiti. bless their hearts. they WISH they had water to even boil! before we gripe about things not going right for us, we need to stop and be thankful.

Girl! You know you could have called us. We would love to keep sweet MPB anytime.
You are so right about the water situation. My heart is broken from Haiti and I wish I knew how to help.
