"the girls" got to town on thursday - stella, carolyn, and reynolds - and met me for lunch at hickory pit. we had a good time - they're a great group of girls!
thursday night after their 2nd practice, we took goody bags to the hotel - white chocolate popcorn, sugar cookies with orange sprinkles, and brownies. we threw stella (aka baula) in some of her favorite dove chocolates, too. oh - and we included ryan in on the goody bags.
friday night was the shan whiteside memorial 3-point shootout & slam dunk contest at MRA. we decided to go eat before going to the school, so baula came and met us since she was not in the shootout. we hung out at the school until it was over and went to get everybody the promised cold stone ice cream to take to the hotel.
this is when we laughed so much! we got to the hotel and heard loud music when we got out of the car. once we got inside, we saw why - there was some sort of rotc/military dance going on. and it was hilarious - especially considering the girls went in and danced. and mary peyton was following right along - but thank goodness she didn't get too far! she was too busy eating her ice cream.....
saturday was game day - the north aa-aaa girls (stella/baula, carolyn/tripod, and reynolds/ree ree) won 100-63. the south boys (ryan/scooby) won 89-85. ryan was also named the south mvp.
we are proud of our special friends and are going to miss watching them next year!!!
