This is SO random......

a gold star for a friend (or stars....)

i have a patient, deanna, who i've been seeing for about 2 years. please let me start by saying that i've only had about 3 patients EVER who had such a severe phobia of the dentist as she did. the first time i saw her, she barely spoke - i just talked to her husband. yes, he came with her the first several times she came in. well, 6 months ago, she came in. but without her husband - she'd decided to bring one of her boys! progress!!! well, this past week, she came - ALL. BY. HERSELF.!!!!! not just once, to me, but again, to dr carter, to have work done! SO - i told her that i would give her a shout out with a star - so why not 5? oh - and somewhere in the past 6 months, she found my blog....so now we bounce back and forth. she does some good posts - go check her out!

chris saved
i've GOT to get off of this computer in a few minutes so that i can get ready to go to the funeral for our sweet friend, chris. but i wanted to update all 5 of my readers on the ulmer's and some other things

~tommy and i went to their house on tuesday. mr leroy wasn't there, but mrs roxie was. she said that God was getting her through this. that they were o.k. i went there to comfort her - to let her know how much we love them and how much chris meant to us - and it was the opposite. when we walked in, she said, "mrs suzanne! oh he loved you so much". well dang. that was it - i broke down. she said that chris was a child of God and that God had this in His plan. such a precious, strong woman.

~i went back to their house yesterday. i had been by and saw mr leroy out in the yard and wanted to talk to him. tommy and i didn't know what to do for them, so we got them a visa gift card so that they can get or do what they need. mr leroy was the same as mrs roxie. unbelievably strong - especially to have lost your only child. and his child was his life.

~mary peyton was saying earlier that chris is in heaven with Jesus. i told her that i hope he is. tommy overheard and cleared this up. when our church was at the old campus on old canton road, we had a ministry on sunday afternoons called "Slam". mrs barbara, tommy, mr jim ramsey, and some others spent sunday afternoons opening the clc (gym) up to the neighborhood kids. they would play some, have a devotion, and play some more. tommy said that at one of these slam sessions, they sat down with chris and he prayed to receive Christ. mr jim ramsey also told me about this wednesday night. i am so thankful that we have a church that ministers not only to the members, but to those in the community. because of that mission focus, i know that my sweet friend, chris, is in heaven now and that i will see him again!

going to see jeremy
i've got to call mrs charlotte to make sure jeremy feels up to it, but we are planning to go see all of them tomorrow! mary peyton is excited. this has been such a God thing and i think that is why our friendship is strong. i'll post some pictures (i know, ya'll have been waiting for pictures even back to Christmas - those are coming!) so you can see how much fun we have!

what i got for Christmas

the emerald/diamond band was my big gift from tommy/mary peyton for Christmas. he had gotten one when mary peyton was born, but that's a story that i don't want to go back into. no, i didn't lose the ring. let's just say we had a horrible experience with a jeweler. maybe i need to do a blog post about that by itself sometime...... anyway - i love my new band - he did good!

comments???
o.k. so i'm thinking that i only have about 5 readers - but according to the counter, i have more. i know that MONIKA reads because she confesses every so often. and KIM WILLIAMSON reads because she sent me an email asking about chris. SO - if you read this, leave a comment! i just want to know who all is still out there - since i'm slacking at blogging lately, you know!

gotta run - i need to be EARLY for the funeral so that i can park close! have a great weekend!

I confess, I'm a lurker. I like to read but rarely ever comment for fear of freaking people out or something. Stupid, right? I am sure everyone would rather have a comment from a random reader than knowing people are reading but not knowing who they are...

The ring is beautiful! =)
