yesterday mary peyton was in the best mood when i picked her up from JA. we were driving down old canton having a conversation when we got by the old colonial heights campus.
me: "mary peyton, do you see that church right there?"
mpb: "yes ma'am".....she looked at me confused.....
me: "that's where mommy and daddy got married."
mpb: "i want to get married and be a princess."
me: "sweetheart, when you get older and bigger, you can!"
mpb: "i want to marry my daddy or bryce. and then i get to wear a ring like you have on your hand. and i want to be a mommy, too. i'm getting so big, mommy!"
yes, mary peyton, you are. and i know that before i am able to blink and take it all in, you will be a beautiful bride and then start a family of your own. so right now we are going to talk about anything you want to - even weddings and princesses - so that i can make all of my memories.
i love you, sweet girl

so sweet. you are RIGHT. talk to her about whatever she wants to talk about. help her know now that she is safe in conversation with you. it'll make a huge difference when she is a teenager. i love that!!!
how sweet! we have got to get those two together after all of the craziness of the holidays! we miss y'all!!
