my date with my baby...

well, that should say my dateS with my baby. almost every friday mary peyton and i go to lunch together. i had thought that we'd go to different places every friday (yes, i know, we'd have to overlap and go to the same one twice at some point - or three times...). well, undoubtedly mpb has plans of her own!

EVERY friday when i pick her up, i ask her where she wants to "have lunch" with mommy.

her response? "bom a eee". that's her way of saying bon ami.

so we go.

and they love it.

before i had mary peyton, tommy's mom and i met at bon ami every single friday for lunch. we may miss a friday here and there, but it was rare. it was even such that we had our regular waiters - patty or henry. and they usually put us at the same table!

so they saw me go through the whole pregnancy. and when mary peyton was about 3 weeks old, we returned on our regular friday. mrs. mona (the owner's mom) eats mpb up. when she got big enough, mrs. mona would carry her around the place talking to different people.

and it was no time before mrs. mona was cutting fruit up so small for mpb to eat (when she started eating table foods). as soon as they saw us sitting down, most of the time before we got our berry tea, mpb would have a bowl of fruit in front of her!

well, linda changed jobs and the friday lunch tradition stopped.

but with mpb in school this year and the time that i pick her up, it was a perfect opportunity for me and my sweet girl to start it back with us. so we did.

and she loves it! she gets her berry tea, fruit, sometimes a grilled cheese, and gets to draw mat man and strollers all over the table without getting in trouble! (mat man is something from JA - i'll post pictures of him sometime...)

you know, i can remember back to when i was about 3 years old. she's 3 1/2. i hope that she remembers these little lunch dates and how special they are to both of us.

i love her so much.

How Precious!! I cant wait to start traditions like that with Claire. Mary Peyton is so cute and we love the Double Decker bus too!
