still behind

wow. where has THIS week gone?

monday night we were able to actually come home, cook supper, and enjoy time together as a family. it was so nice. i cleaned out the laundry room and tried to organize some more in the kitchen. yeah - i still need to completely finish it. but it's better than when i started!

tuesday night was bunko - and that means getting home around 9:30. mpb and t were already in the bed when i got home. can't complain about that!

wednesday. hump day. the "bad" day of our week. well - there were good things, too. anyway - after work, i met my friend heather at barnes & noble. i downloaded her wedding pictures to a disc, showed her how i do "the grocery game" (organizing my coupons, etc), and we had coffee. i left there and went to get mpb at daycare. we headed to church and on the way in, i noticed that the skin around her bo-bo looked bad. (she got some sort of bite on her right calf over the weekend...we had been "doctoring" it with neosporin, band aids, etc).

well - when i got in the worship center, i got her in a grip and got the band aid off. G.R.O.S.S. that's all i can say. *WARNING: if you have a weak stomach, please stop reading - or don't blame me when you puke on the computer or keyboard* i was able to squeeze the area and pus came out. i INSTANTLY started looking for roseann (my cousin). and found her.

that's about when geno came over because he heard (like EVERYBODY else in the worship center) mary peyton going insane. roseann thought that it was some sort of bite that just got infected. geno chimed in that he thought it could be a spider bite.

great. i'm a horrible mother. i should have been checking this instead of tommy - not that he can't, but he says i'm the more "medical minded" of the 2 of us.

i call the after hours clinic and we go straight there. tommy was in a meeting after work, so i just sent a text that said "emergency". he met us there.

poor mary peyton - she said that she wanted her "dr vayae" (our pediatrician is dr chevalier). it broke her heart when i told her that he wasn't on call and that she would see one of "dr vayae's" friends.

dr storey was great - she did have to squeeze the heck out of the area to get the pus and blood out. and mary peyton was going crazy. it broke my heart and i literally teared up a few times. am i really THAT bad of a mother that i didn't know my baby had a small hole in her leg?????

a culture was sent of to test for staph and we got a prescription for an antibiotic.

i didn't hear from the culture today - i may call tomorrow.

thursday - when i got mpb up this morning, i told her that i was going to have to change her bandaid. she was fine with this, but said, "o.k. but 'ou don't have to 'queeze it, o.k.?". i hated to, but i did have to squeeze it just a little bit. and she was MAD. but got over it when i told her i had a prize (a shirt i got 50% off at a consignment store yesterday!). she was so excited. oh - the rest of the day? work. work. work.

so now we're to my weekend. and it's the SECOND weekend of the whole year (literally - i just went back and looked at my schedule) that i don't have any cakes. so tomorrow i'm throwing mary peyton outside and we're going to play in the sprinkler and eat popsicles (aka "pickles") and play in the plastic pool and blow bubbles and just enjoy each other.

because my baby is growing entirely too fast and it breaks my heart. where have the past 3 years gone anyway????

So sorry to hear about MP leg-bite! I hope it continues to heal. We love Dr. Chevalier as well!

Glad you are getting to spend the day devoted to just MP..I LOVE those days with Mallory....too bad Mal is at the beach with her dad, we might would have to crash the party tomorrow. MAl loves a sprinkler and blow-up pool!

Oh, I saw you leaving wal-mart last night. You were too far to yell to and I was going to call you, but I lost your number when my phone went swimming last Friday.

Have a great day tomorrow!

You are not a bad mother! Those things happen. Ask me sometime about the time we let Banana stay through church with a gash in her head...yes we were at the ER getting stitches later that night!

Hope she's all better soon!

Hey, Suzanne! Sorry about your sweet girl's leg. Tanner had that happen to his leg too. I cried when Dr. Chevalier had to take care of it and Tanner didn't! Hope the rest of your weekend is all fun and popsicles.
