MAY 2008

may started out fun. on may 3rd, we had mary peyton's 3rd birthday party. it's so hard to believe that my baby is 3. she is the love of my life.....

wilson and stella came down to spend the night. it was the day of the overall state track meet - stella had a great day! she is a sprint runner and won the 100m dash - her favorite event - that she wins every year.....

mary peyton and i went to one of jude's baseball games. mary peyton cheered hard and jude's team won!!!!! mpb loves her "jude reeves"!

mother's day weekend was busy! we went to the delta on friday night and stayed with key (1 mama), then went to see my mom (another mama), then went to minter city to see grandmama (ANOTHER mama...). here are some pictures.....

on saturday night (the night before mother's day), pillow had their graduation dance with the presentation. for those of you who aren't familiar with it - presentation is just where each senior and their date are announced before the dance. the pictures below are of wilson and stella, august (stella's siter) and her boyfriend jacob, and t.c/mary key and tommy/mary peyton dancing.

mother's day morning is always baby dedication at our church (there is also one in the fall). our dear friends, brad and chasity reeves, dedicated sanders on this day (this is jude's family - see pictures above...). we went to their house for dinner after church - sanders sacked out and jude/mary peyton looked like an old married couple - on a spiderman "couch"!

i did get to spend a little time with my sweetheart on mother's day. when we got home from church, tommy mowed the yard and mary peyton/i sat on my NEW front porch swing! tommy's step-dad and his mom brought it over while we were in the delta and hung it - we didn't even see it until mother's day morning! i had been begging for one for 3 years - now i LOVE it!!! mary peyton and i read books, ate strawberries and ice cream, prayed, made clover necklaces, and had a good time.
i had bunko that tuesday and we had a shower for a friend in the group who was getting married!!! then on wednesday i picked andrea up at school and we went to get mary peyton so that we could all go to renaissance to barnes & noble!

that friday, tommy got off work early so that we could head to greenwood. wilson's graduation was that night! it's hard to believe that he's already graduated! he was in kindergarten when i graduated - time flies....

while we were home, tommy and i did something we had been talking about doing for a while - we got a puppy. her name is DELTA (very appropriate for me, don't you think?). she is a little beagle and is so much fun! she is good with mary peyton, too. this was mary peyton's birthday present..... here are a few pics...

because jill and her family were not able to come to our house for mary peyton's birthday party, we had a "mini-party" at their house on saturday (17th). i just made a little version of mary peyton's bigger cake from her party. it was fun!

sunday was "kids day" at our church. the kids were all given t-shirts and encouraged to wear them that afternoon at the church-wide picnic. it was so much fun! and delta was passed from person to person to person. she was worn out!!!

the 19th was mary peyton's actual birthday. we let her decide where we were going to go eat and of course she chose her favorite - "chick-fu-lei". that really is how she says it. andrea wanted to go, so we went and picked her up. cory, jenny, and gran-gran (tommy's mom) met us there, too! it was a nice little get together!

on tuesday i heard tommy squeal like a little girl (he says he hasn't been able to squeal that high since puberty). he came in and said that he had hit a snake with the weed-eater! WHAT!!! he said it was a baby - and my first thought was that if it's a baby, where's the mommy? uuugggghhhh!!!!! tommy killed it (which was a sight to see!) and threw it in the street - then some little boys came by, picked it up, and took it with them. eeeeeewwwwww.........

my boss' daughter, catherine, got married last weekend. it was an incredible wedding and the reception was great! dr zarr's played and we stayed until it was over. my mom came down and kept mary peyton at our house for us. i made the groom's cake and here is the picture everybody has been wanting to see - sorry if it's a disappointment!

during the reception, tommy was dancing and CONSTANTLY texting our good friend, neal, about the ole miss baseball game. when we found out that ole miss would be playing lsu on sunday for the sec championship, we decided that we were going to figure out a way to go. just had to check with my mom. sunday morning, we asked her if she would mind taking mary peyton and delta with her to greenwood so that we could go. she said yes, so we got dressed and headed east! it was not a good game for the rebels, but the winning pitcher for lsu is a friend from greenwood, so it was a little bittersweet!

we got up and messed around for a little while before going to my mom's to get mary peyton. we went swimming over at the jones' and had a great time! (robyn - tell your parents thanks!!!).

when we got in the car ready to head home, tommy had a text. when he checked it, he looked white as a ghost. he forced the phone in my direction and said, "we've got to hurry". the text? from cory - "jen's water broke, already admitted to Women's, 3 cm dialated, she has an IV in. about to get the epidural and then I guess we just wait". um. i won't say how fast he drove coming home. but i will say that i know i haven't made it from greenwood to madison that quickly - ever. we decided that i would go to the hospital and he would stay here with mary peyton. as soon as we pulled up, i jumped out and ran to get in the tub. let's just say that my total bath (including washing hair) was done in the same amount of time it took tommy to get all of our stuff out of the car. when i was rushing out to get in to go to the hospital - he was just getting mary peyton out!

long story short - jenny was in labor all night. cory's mom/dad/sister, jenny's sister, and i all slept on the floor in the waiting room at woman's hospital. we got a text at 5:45 a.m. on tuesday that she was pushing. parker was born at 6:47. he is precious. we took mary peyton to the hospital to see him that night.

when we got home, mary peyton went straight in the den and was very quiet. i asked what she was doing and she said, "feeding parker". i know cory is glad to know that our parker wears pink!
my friend, lenore, lives down the street. she was riding her girls around in their golf-cart and came by to see if mary peyton wanted to ride. and she did - well - kinda. mary peyton told her that she wanted to drive. oh boy.............

stella and reynolds came down to spend the night on thursday (wilson is in cancun on his senior trip). we had so much fun with them. i met up with them on friday to see sex and the city (i have very mixed emotions on this movie).

and finally, we went to see parker on friday night to take coldstone to them. i told cory, jenny, and tommy on may 23rd that that would be our last night to meet AT coldstone before parker arrived. the boys told me i was crazy. this was also kind-of cory's birthday celebration s
ince he did turn a year older on saturday!!!!!

on saturday, we got up early and went to mary peyton's "boyfriend's" birthday party at pump it up. mary peyton and bryce are about 2 weeks apart and his mom, kim, and i were room-mates. and now we live in the same neighborhood! here are a few pictures from his party!

AND THERE IT IS! bits and pieces of our life for the past month. it's only taken me over an hour to do this. hope y'all enjoy! and please leave some sort of comment if you have actually made it through this entire thing..............see - now you know why i don't put pictures up all of the time! i take WAY too many!!!!
