Thank you for the cross, Lord!

He is risen!
He is risen, indeed!

if you have been a part of colonial heights during the larry kulcke era, you have heard these words on Easter morning. and i kinda miss hearing this. don't get me wrong - i love the contemporary worship. but there was just something about this being the first thing that was said as soon as church "started".

we are spending our Easter at my favorite place on earth - no, junebug and ashley, it's not disneyworld. it's the Delta. not really a surprise to those of you who know me or who have been reading a while, huh?

i think my daddy is excited that the Easter bunny is going to be coming to his house again - it's been a while since the furry thing made a stop here! but this year he'll be back. and i'll post pictures of what he leaves behind sometime soon.

but i hope that mary peyton does not associate Easter with just a basket of "stuff". i have told her a few times this week that Easter is about Jesus dying on the cross. i know that she does not fully understand that Jesus died on the cross for her sins, but if she starts out this young hearing it, hopefully she will understand at an early age.

as i sit here and watch my sweet girl try to help her baby doll "walk" beside her and talk to it as though it's her real baby, i can't help but think of the floods of memories that had to have gone through mary's mind as she saw her Son, our Savior, nailed to the old rugged cross. memories like diaper changes, feedings, scraped knees, tears. the "mom" memories. and here He is - her little boy - dying for the sins of the world.

wow.

and then......3 days later....HE ROSE!!!!

what a Savior!

i hope that you and your family have a blessed Easter.

love~suzanne, tommy, and mary peyton
