here's the situation.
today i planned to let mary peyton go to daycare so that she could join her friends for the Easter party. win-win situation - she goes to daycare and i can clean up and bake cakes. so tommy took her to daycare when he went to work and i planned to go get her around 2:30 or so - about the time they wake up from their nap.
good plans, huh?
so it's 3:50 and i just got out of the tub. i've been on a CLEANING STREAK. i've gone through 3 of my drawers - chunking stuff right and left. i've cleaned out my closet. i've stripped mary peyton's bed (yes, the one she doesn't sleep in) and washed everything.
and i've found that christy's little friend's cousin must be at my house. for those of you who don't know, my friend christy has a little friend who is a mouse. enough said. i'm not happy about our uninvited visitor.
so back to the question at hand. am i such a bad mother if i let my sweet child stay at daycare until her daddy comes to get her? i mean - i can stay here and finish some more stuff and she can stay on the playground a little while longer.
but then i think about how not long from now i'll want to be able to spend a friday with her and won't be able to, you know?
so tell me - am i such a bad mother for being off work and still having my child go to daycare?

I don't think you are a bad mother. Every once in a while you need to take care of stuff even if it is clean...
no, suz. stop beating yourself up over it. sometimes you just have stuff to do. it's okay!!!
by the way, i just figured out how to type on that little thingie at the side of your blog. i promise. i would have already typed on yours too :0)
no way are you a bad mother. we need to have a little time to ourselves sometimes to have a break! i am ready for the kids to go back to school on monday. it is hard to recover and meet their demands too.

you are NOT a bad momma! i'm jealous that i couldn't be off work getting my house spring cleaned! :)
You are absolutely not a bad mother. We need alone time to get things done, and look how much you got done with her away having fun. I would've done the same thing if given the opportunity!!! Nikki
nah. She was having a party for goodness sakes!! Plus I have seen you in person with her and I KNOW for a fact that you are an awesome mommy. And Laura Grace still says you are the best choir and Mission Friends teacher.
By the way, do you still have the mouse? Ours did suddenly disappear...
