SO..............................
do you like this?
do you like this?

what about this?

o.k. so if your heart is racing a little bit, then i know you are a fan like me!
and if you are already reading this far thinking "what the heck? who cares?", then
STOP READING NOW.
I LOVE MY POTTERY!!! PERIOD.
and each year the first weekend of march, peter's pottery and mccarty's has their "2nds sale". peter's is on saturday from 8:00-12:00 and mccarty's is sunday at 1:00.
last year we headed up on friday afternoon. this year we're going friday morning.
last year we took dana's parent's camper. this year we're using my daddy's tent.
(diesel has gone up too much!!!)
and don't call me crazy.
call the people at the front of the line (see picture below) crazy. they are the ones who take a week off of work, buy stuff, then go sell it on ebay or in stores. granted they get a lot of pieces that you can't see a thing wrong with, but i enjoy spending my week of vacation with my family!

this picture is of some of my crazy friends who do this with me. dana is on the far left. she is from natchez and has gone with me the past 2 years. that's her mom, mary jo, on the far right. and in the middle is my friend, tiffanie. she lives in cleveland and we used her house for showers, etc (since we sleep outside!).

now this is my friend jami (obviously) on the left. she is married to a friend of mine from high school. and that's me (obviously) on the right. jami and i didn't plan to have a yearly date at the sale, but last year was our 3rd year, so now we do plan it!

so some of these people actually have t-shirts made up that their "group" wears. if our group continues to grow, we might have to do it, too!!!
and yes, the deals are worth it. well, let me tell you what all happens.....
so we'll sleep outside for 2 nights. it's pretty fun actually. we'll take stuff to do during the day, run in to cleveland to eat, probably eat at crawdad's, etc. the line gets LONG. and they don't open the doors until 1:00. once the doors open, you don't just "run on in". no ma'am. here's a look at the inside of the place:

everyone has their own laundry basket in front of them. we have never gotten into the room (yes, we've been IN LINE) before 3:15 or so. and that's getting there a few days early.
go ahead, call me crazy.
so then it LITERALLY takes about 2 hours to get from where i took this picture to the checkout counter.
it's brutal.
but such good deals!!!!
i'll post and let you know....
OH - and if you want to go, please let us know!!!

I just e-mailed you!
I'm considering going....
I am so jealous; I have wanted to go for years. I will be in Idaho this year, but there's always next year. Oh, and this very sweet cake decorator/dental hygienist who I will reimburse for any purchases made for me in my absence!
I've been to this once and said I would never go back. I don't do good with small, cramped spaces. I did find a lot of great pieces when I went. Have fun!
truly unbelievable. i've never even HEARD of this! of course i've heard of mccarty's pottery, BUT not THIS! and i thought misteltoe was bad...
i am ready. when is it? i hope before march 10th. i am having a hysterectomy.
ummmmm...........anonymous, who are you???
I've lived about 1 mile from there all of my life and am not crazy enough to go to the seconds sale. Girl!! I hope you find hundreds of cheap things...
i have been wanting to go, but was wondering if i can't drive up until Sunday morning is it worth going?
anonymous.....who are you?
