hopefully it won't be much longer

o.k. so you know that it's been a LONG time since the last post when your daddy even tells you so. and other people start blogs and automatically remind you that your last post was a while ago (thanks, ashley and shana). so here's my attempt. no sweet pictures of mary peyton (all of august and september are on the new laptop anyway). maybe next time.

september was a VERY busy month. yep - a gift a day. that was great. and read over to the right - i got some GOOD stuff!!! what a sweet husband i have!!!

we went to ole miss a few times for football games. none of them successful, but it's always fun to hang out in the grove with holly, neal, and their boys. i've got some cute pictures of mary peyton at the games. most of you know this, but LITERALLY we planned mary peyton's conception/birth around football season. she was 4 months old at her first game. so yes, this is her 3rd season of rebel football. and she loves it. really. she does. and it's a good thing because that's all we do in the fall. football on friday nights. football on saturdays.

we also got to go to a few of pillow academy's football games. my little cousin, wilson, is a senior and plays for pillow. his girlfriend, stella, was in homecoming court. she is a junior. i wish i could post some of the pictures from homecoming. mary peyton would not leave her alone once we got there! so here's stella in this gorgeous red dress having to carry mary peyton around. she didn't mind, though. thank goodness. pillow was undefeated until they played jackson academy on their homecoming. this is mine and tommy's rival game since it is our alma maters playing each other. pillow lost 20-19.

i got to go to the alluvian spa twice in september. it was incredible as always. the first time was on the 15th. i had an hour facial and an hour massage. then on the 29th, chasity and i went to greenwood for the day. we did "a taste of viking" at the viking cooking school where we learned how to make warm pear crepes. yummo!!! we ate lunch at the blue parrot cafe, shopped some, then went to the spa (see link above!) for "the Delta escape" which includes 1 30-minute massage or facial, sweet tea manicure, and sweet tea pedicure. since chasity is preggo, she did the facial while i did the massage, then we had our manicures and pedicures together. it was awesome. afterwards, since she had never eaten in greenwood, we went to the crystal grill - a must if you've NEVER eaten there. we finally got back home around 8:30.

and so now we're into october. wow. already? i'm ready to get the mums planted in my pots where the dead plants are and get some pansies. plus put out the pumpkins. i love the fall.

i'll try to do a better job and will try to get the "new" laptop going and working in cyberspace. i've got the wireless router, external hard-drive to save all of the thousands (literally) of pictures that i've taken, and cute little backpack to go with the laptop. i've even got one of those flash card things that i don't completely understand. and i've had all of this since september 9th. but who's counting? obviously everyone who checks my blog and comments "update please".

Yay for a new post! And you made up for it, too. What's this about a gift a day in September? Tommy and Kurt need to talk.

Sounds like things have been busy! I knew your name sounded familiar when i got you as my super swap friend and didn't realize until i read your blog about pillow and ja. I graduated from ja in 99 but i had an older brother that was close to tommy's age. what a small world! i hope things continue to go great!!

Oh, after I talked to you Friday, I checked out your blog and realized that you were the one that I got the idea a while back about a "gift a day" (refer to my blog post on 09/26/07 www.smithfamilyof5.blogspot.com)
TOO FUNNY!!! It didn't even register with me while talking with you on the phone that you where the one I got my idea from;o)Looks like you had a wonderful month of gifts!!! Take care and have a fun trip! Melanie Smith
