well, this time 6 years ago, i was getting ready to work 1 more day before i took a week off for a honeymoon in hawaii - AFTER a wedding on saturday, august 11, 2001. where has the time gone???
saturday, tommy and i will celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. we have been through more than we ever imagined we would go through. but God has allowed each thing to happen to bring us closer and to help us understand that we have to rely on Him as a couple. yes, us stubborn only-children need to rely on someone else.
tommy and i met at colonial heights baptist church in april 2000. both of us had just gone through heartbreaks in january of that year and we were both getting ready to graduate from college. i wasn't quite sure if i wanted to date anyone yet, but it just happened. we were engaged later that year on october 8, 2000 (fast forward 4 years and we had our dr's appt to confirm our pregnancy on october 8, 2004!!!). we planned our wedding for august 11, 2001. it was exactly what we wanted. our reception was at colonial country club with hunter gibson and the gators playing. everyone had so much fun!
below are 2 pictures from our wedding (1 is a scan of a scan, so it isn't as clear as i'd like). the other picture is us around our 5th anniversary - last august on the cruise with mary peyton. it is one of my favorite pictures.

I CANT BELIEVE IT HAS BEEN THAT LONG. IT SEEMS LIKE JUST YESTERDAY THAT I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF YOU WERE DATING THE SAME TOMMY BARNETTE THAT I KNEW. TIME FLIES! ALOT HAS HAPPENED SINCE THEN.
