nothing much....

well, this may just be a bunch of ramblings....but i want a new blog post up, so here it is!

nothing much has happened the 2nd half of the week. our friends chasity and brad (their son jude is at her parents' house in columbus) came over wednesday afternoon, as well as tommy's mom and step-dad. we had so much food! hamburgers, sausage/cheese, squash, baked beans, potato casserole, corn on the cob, corn dip, chips, cheesecake, strawberries, ice cream, etc. etc. too bad nobody else could come!!! for whatever reason, i did not take the 1st picture. very odd for me. mary peyton was PETRIFIED of the fireworks. complete change from last year when she would sit and watch them. after everyone left, we were just watching the boston pops thing on t.v. and she was scared to death. i told her that the fireworks were flowers. seemed to work - she actually watched it then! last friday night we went to the balloon glow/fireworks show in ridgeland. the fireworks were shot from our church (colonial heights baptist church) parking lot. we sat in another part of the parking lot. undoubtedly it was still too close. she was a wreck. so she, tommy, and jude (they were there, too!) sat in our car. jude is 5. he looked at tommy when they got in the car and said "mr tommy, i'm scared like mary peyton.". he is so precious.

thursday was back to work for a day that seemed like monday and thursday all in one. i would say friday, but i don't work fridays!!!! YEA!!! fortunately i had good patients scheduled that day.

yesterday was just a day for mary peyton and me to be together. you need those days, you know? we got up and got dressed. she wanted to wear a "dess" (dress) - complete with a bow in her hair and bracelet/necklace. so i pulled out her good little pearl bracelet that tommy gave her for her 1st birthday and the pearl necklace that linda & billy barnette (tommy's dad passed away 4 1/2 years ago - but his step-dad is billy also....this is his dad that i'm talking about now) bought and saved for when/if they had a grand-daughter. so she looked all cute and i had on jeans. oh well. we went to leap frog and sweet dreams both - 50% off sales!!!!! we went through wendy's and both got kids meals - it's great to do that so that she can have 2 toys! came home and hung out. what a great day with my little angel.

so today i'm up bright and early. thought about going to garage sales, but the rain is keeping me away. chasity and i are going to leap frog & sweet dreams after while to shop for baby sanders. that is the name decided on for their little girl who is due at the end of november. i love it - something different! no cakes this weekend - next weekend will make up for it.

guess i'll quit rambling. i wonder who will even make it through reading this whole thing - probably nobody, but oh well.

Wow...I'm tired just reading all that! I can't shop ahead for my girls anymore...the way they are growing, there's no telling what they will need. Besides, they want to shop for THEMSELVES now! But I do enjoy shopping with them (most of the time).
