my little cousin, sarah, had her bat mitzvah last friday night in greenville. i had no idea what to expect, as this was my first time to go to a bat mitzvah! i didn't even know that there is a "bar" mitzvah and a "bat" mitzvah. for those of you who also are "in the dark" abou this, a bar is for a boy and a bat is for a girl.
we had a great time. they had a wonderful reception afterwards with beautiful flowers and pictures of sarah up everywhere. there was a man playing the saxophone for just the right touch of music.
mazel tov, sarah!
(this is the only thing i learned in hebrew - it means congratulations!)
speaking of that....i was truly amazed at how well sarah was able to speak hebrew. there is no way i could have done what she did!!!!!

sam, donna, sarah, and the rabbi
sarah is reading from the torah. she read some verses from leviticus, but i can't remember which ones...like i said above, i was just amazed that she could read the hebrew!
sarah and me. she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. no lie. she is the most mature teenager that i may have ever known. i'm so glad she is part of my family!
keith, cheryll, and layton. layton is 15 months old and absolutely adorable! cheryll is sam's daughter and a precious person. we don't get to see each other nearly enough, but e-mail enough to almost make up for it!
ben and mary peyton goofing off. ben loves mary peyton and always wants to play around with her. once she warms up, she's all for a little rough-housing!!!
