I have a sweet friend, Kristina, who really is a blessing to me. She and I were at MDCC together and got accepted to UMC at the same time. I can remember having classes with her at MDCC and then our interviews at UMC. We lived through 2 years of dental hygiene school together. I remember when I begged her to go on a mission trip with me to Canada. And I remember the phone calls to some guy who all of a sudden didn't matter anymore because Hamp had come into the picture! We (and our spouses) were in each others weddings. We both lost our fathers-in-law to the dreaded disease cancer. We were pregnant together - so much so that she went into labor at a baby shower for me that she was helping to give! She is the type of friend to me that I can call and talk to and the phone never hangs up without both of us saying I love you.
Well, Kristina and Hamp are about to enlarge the Gaston family. Yep, she is pregnant. But there is more than one coming! TWINS!!! I know that she is scared to death right now - worried over trying to plan for Reid (he will be 2 in April) and these precious lives that have been entrusted to her. But like I told her, this was not her plan, but it was God's plan. And our plan/His plan are not always the same! In fact, rarely are they EVER the same! But when we look back, His way is always the best.
So, good luck, Kristina and Hamp! Hopefully I can be there to welcome these babies into the world just like I welcomed Reid!
(That is Reid in the picture above - don't you want to just eat him up!!!)
